The most critical aspect of finding and working with any builder is the need to develop a true partnership where both client and contractor are jointly active, communicative participants throughout the process. While the contractor must provide the technical knowledge and experienced advice, the client must be proactive, precise and timely in providing clear instruction at every stage.

Scott and his partner Mike Portante are experts, not just in the technical sense but also in understanding how such a partnership has to work in order to get the very best results. While they are always available to provide the best advice on whatever aspect of the planning and building process is required, they also rightly expect that the client provides regular detailed input of what they need to know at every stage of the undertaking. They will work closely with you from the original discussions around what the home site will best accommodate, to conferring with your architect and yourself throughout the planning process and then keeping in close touch during the many stages of construction.This often requires daily, sometimes even hourly communication when decisions need to be taken at short notice. Scott and Mike make a point of being available at almost any time to you when the need arises.

Building in the mountains has many unusual challenges from steep slopes and high winds to limited drainage and drill braking granite .It is essential to have a construction partner with extensive experience of handling these. Scott and Mike are the best when it comes to understanding and dealing with those challenges.

Skilled labor is not easy to find in the region and even more difficult to pin down to the dates when you need them during the building process. Scott and Mike through many years of construction experience locally have an unequalled network and access to the best craftspeople available for the many skills required. This is critical when it comes, for example, to kitchen materials and fittings to tiling, wood flooring, specialized plumbing and electrical work and landscaping to name a few.
